OUR CURRICULUM: The Xavier School has adopted The Creative Curriculum in each of our classrooms. The Creative Curriculum is based on sound developmental theory and evidence-based research in early childhood development. The Creative Curriculum focuses on the enhancement of children’s social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. Goals for each of the four areas of focus are created and ongoing observations and evaluations are conducted to monitor each child’s progress. The classrooms at The Xavier School are modeled around The Creative Curriculum. Each classroom is set up in order to provide children with the opportunities to initiate their own learning. Classrooms are organized according to interest areas that include: art, dramatic play, library, and discovery. Teachers at Xavier help motivate and support children’s learning in the classroom through small groups and one-on-one interaction.
